DEDICATED PRACTITIONERS RECEIVE CLEAR, PROGRESSIVE TRAINING ROOTED IN THE PILATES SYSTEM.
We meet you where you are today and guide you toward what you can become tomorrow. Training is built around the Pilates system. Here, the work is clear, progressive, and faithful to the original Pilates lineage. Simplicity makes progress understandable. Precision makes it lasting.
TRAINING AT AITOPILATES STUDIO
You can join classes both at the studio and online.
PRIVATE AND DUO SESSIONS
Pilates is not a one-size-fits-all method, which is why training at the studio always begins with private sessions, regardless of your background. I see how you move and, at the same time, get to know you. Private sessions also help us build your personal workout routine.
Remember that learning a new skill can feel confusing at first, so give yourself time. Repetition builds familiarity, and your skill develops through practice. The number of private sessions needed depends on your situation, after which you can continue training, for example, in Aitopilates (old-school) classes.
When you want to develop your practice with purpose, private sessions become part of your regular training rhythm.
Duo sessions are an energetic workout with a Pilates partner. If you want to begin duo sessions, you should arrange your partner in advance. Please note: both participants must reserve their place through the booking system. If both are first-time visitors to the studio, the minimum commitment is 3 sessions.
Duo sessions are especially well suited to Pilates instructors and practitioners who are at a similar level in their training.
Session length: 50–55 minutes.
AITOPILATES CLASSES - OLD-SCHOOL WORKOUT
In this class, you move in the way people once trained in Joseph Pilates’ original studio. Practitioners progress according to a personal program that leads toward independent work. The instructor is there to offer guidance and refine your practice.
You can join Aitopilates classes once you have completed private sessions or received approval from Kati. If independent training on Gratz equipment as part of your own program is already familiar to you, for example from another studio, you are warmly welcome to join.
Aitopilates Studio is a traditional Pilates studio, where the method is taught according to the needs of the individual rather than through random movement selections. That is when you truly practice Pilates and begin to enjoy its many benefits. Change comes through regular, systematic training.
Session length: 50 minutes.
OTHER CLASS OFFERINGS
Other classes include Mat Pilates & Wunda Chair, Wunda Chair, Instructor Class and Mat Work. To join Wunda Chair class, you should already know the fundamental exercises, including Foot Work, Swan, Push Down, and Teaser, and know how to adjust spring resistance when needed.
Wunda Chair, Mat Pilates & Wunda Chair, and Instructor Classes are suited to experienced practitioners or Pilates instructors. In these classes, you refine and sharpen your practice, deepen your understanding, and challenge yourself further.
Mat Work is suitable once you have progressed beyond a strong foundation.
All small-group classes at Aitopilates Studio require independence and self-directed movement.
If you have not trained with Kati before and would like to join a class, please contact us first so we can make sure the session is the right fit for you.
Class length: 50 minutes. Mat Work: 45 minutes.

TRAIN WITH US WHEN YOU WANT PILATES WITHOUT INTERPRETATION
I'm Kati - Pilates teacher & trainer and Business Coach.Â
Kati began practicing Pilates in Sydney in 2004 and immediately recognized it as her professional calling. She wanted to study in the United States for her comprehensive training program. Studies began in New York in 2006 and continued through 2010, during which time she traveled regularly between continents. She began teaching Pilates alongside her studies in 2006.Â
In 2010, Kati founded her first Pilates studio in Rovaniemi, marking her transition into full-time entrepreneurship. Very soon the studio was among the first fully equipped Classical Pilates studios in Finland featuring original Gratz equipment. Her commitment to ongoing learning and a deep understanding of the Pilates method has been a defining aspect of her professional path.
In 2012, Kati met Jay Grimes at Vintage Pilates in Los Angeles and identified him as her primary mentor. In 2015, she became the first—and remains the only— from Finland to graduate from Jay Grimes’ rigorous The Work program. She continued to train regularly under his guidance until 2023.
At Jay Grimes’ encouragement, Kati further expanded her expertise in Classical Pilates through continued study with MeJo Wiggin, Cary Regan and currently with Phoebe Higgins who studied extensively with Romana Kryzanowska. At present, Kati’s fully equipped studio is located in eastern Finland, where she offers training programs for Pilates instructors and teaches the method to practitioners.
EXPERIENCES
"I keep a rhythm of training two to three times a week. Strength and confidence grow almost without my noticing—and then one day I realise that a movement that used to stall and feel impossible is now flowing. At times there are long, quiet stretches, but the feeling after training never lets me down."
- Maria, practising Pilates since 2020
Â
"Pilates has shifted from something to simply tick off into work that truly suits me. The goals are still there, but when the practice is built around what I need, I reach them faster. With age and life changes, personal guidance and precise movement selection matter more and more."
- Meri, practising since 2010
